Hypnotherapy for Anxiety in Edmonton & Fort Saskatchewan

Anxiety and panic take a toll on more than your emotions. They keep you from sleeping well, from being really present in your relationships, from bringing your best self to your work, and from truly living your life...

Your system is simply overloaded by hidden subroutines.

In my office in Fort Saskatchewan, we find what’s driving your anxiety and change it at the source.

A wall of Venetian masks: the many faces of anxiety

The many faces of anxiety

Anxiety can show up as a knot in your stomach, a racing heart or a feeling of panic. It can also show up as physical sensations, symptoms or habits, or feed into and exacerbate other conditions:

  • IBS/Crohn’s

  • Isolating Behaviours

  • Emotional Chaos

  • Self-Sabotage

  • Martyrdom

  • Sexual Dysfunction

  • Autoimmune Disorders

  • Phobias

  • Manias

  • Hypervigilance

  • Task Inertia

  • Imposter Syndrome

  • Perfectionism

  • Addictions

  • Self-Abandonment

  • Victim Mentality

  • Decision Paralysis

  • Depression

  • Self-Loathing

  • Narcissistic Behaviours

  • Eating Disorders

  • Controlling Behaviours

  • Eczema

  • Cycles of Abuse

  • Lack of Resilience

  • People Pleasing

  • OCD

  • Attachment Issues

  • Fear of Failure

  • Emotional Numbness

None of these exist in a truly at-peace, confident, centred person. They’re all anxiety. Most people just aren’t used to calling it that.

Tree roots spreading over stone: where anxiety comes from

Where anxiety comes from

Your subconscious is always trying to keep you safe; even from perceived threats.

Think of subroutines as the subconscious mind’s version of background programs running on a computer:

Invisible scripts. Old code. Protective patterns written when you were young.

Examples include:

  • “Keep everyone happy so you can stay safe.”

  • “Stay small so you don’t draw fire.”

  • “If someone is upset, you must fix it.”

This is why willpower fails. This is why you "know better" but keep doing the same thing over and over.

Your subconscious system is trying to protect you from what it believes will create pain, or hurt you. That’s loyalty.

How I work with anxiety

Together, we rewrite the outdated subroutine so your system finally aligns with the life you’re choosing to live now.

We work backward: from what you’re feeling now, to the pattern underneath it, to where that pattern began. Hypnosis lets us reach the part of you that wrote the old code, so it can be updated.

“Like a clock moving backwards, Janet took me back to the beginning, so we could find and identify the root of an issue. The experience was very real. Very impactful.” – Todd E.

Doris: 55 years of waking in fight-or-flight

Doris woke at 2 a.m. every night, on high alert, for 55 years. Medication and surgery hadn’t helped. Together we found where the pattern began. In six sessions, over three months, together, we overcame a lifelong debilitating issue! Read Doris’s story

Ben: panic in small spaces

Ben’s new job meant riding a tiny, dark elevator thousands of metres underground, and he was panic-stricken. After one session, every aspect of the phobia was gone. He made the trip underground and later flew on holiday with his wife. Read Ben’s story

“One session gave me more results than traditional cognitive psychotherapy in a long run.” – Ieva R.

“The relief lasted even after the session was completed. I felt more balanced, grounded and at peace with myself and what was going on in my world at the time-- a breakthrough!” – Anna C.

Common questions

How many sessions will I need?

Most people need five to seven sessions. The more open and coachable you are, the faster things move.

What does it cost?

Sessions are booked in two-hour increments: $294.00 total, including GST. I offer a sliding fee scale for low-income individuals, seniors and current post-secondary students, case by case.

Will I lose control?

Clinical hypnosis is deep relaxation with heightened awareness, and you can resist any suggestion you choose, so you’re always in control.

Where are you?

Located in the charming and tree-lined downtown of Fort Saskatchewan, less than 20 minutes away from North Edmonton and accessible via Edmonton Transit Service (ETS). Clients come from all over Alberta, from Calgary to Fort McMurray, and many make a day of it.

I’m already on medication or seeing a therapist. Can you still help?

Yes. I can help.

What happens between sessions?

Between sessions, you will listen to specific recordings every day. The listening is the easy part, and it’s what builds new, healthy patterns to replace the old ones.
